Read MoreAs NCR International Hospital, we support the importance of breast milk for the healthy growth and development of babies, and offer a mother-baby friendly environment under our 'Baby-Friendly Hospital' designation.

As NCR International Hospital, we accept protecting and improving the health of mother and baby from the very first moment of life as a fundamental responsibility. In line with the Baby-Friendly Hospital principles, we aim to maintain the protection, promotion, and support of breastfeeding with uninterrupted education and counseling services from pregnancy to postpartum. In the light of scientific and ethical values, we advocate the right of every baby to make the best start in life and every mother's access to reliable breastfeeding support. By adopting skin-to-skin contact, early breastfeeding, strengthening the mother-infant bond, and family-centered care approaches, we commit to contributing to raising healthy generations and adding value to public health with our principle of 'With You for Life'.
We establish the strongest bond between mother and baby with skin-to-skin contact starting immediately after birth.
We support exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months, followed by age-appropriate complementary foods up to 2 years and beyond.
We offer continuous breastfeeding education and counseling from pregnancy through postpartum and after discharge.
We fully comply with the Baby-Friendly Hospital principles set under the guidance of WHO and UNICEF.

The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative is a global program launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding. Our hospital fully complies with these standards to ensure babies get a healthy and strong start in life.
The 10 golden steps determined for the healthy nutrition of babies according to WHO and UNICEF standards:
Establish a written breastfeeding policy that is routinely communicated to all healthcare staff to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding.
Placing the baby directly on the mother’s bare chest immediately after birth regulates heartbeat and breathing, prevents heat loss, and supports early breastfeeding.
Especially for premature babies, skin-to-skin holding on the mother’s or father’s chest provides security, accelerates development, and increases breast milk intake.
First milk (colostrum) contains antibodies that protect your baby against infections.
Breast milk is the easiest food to digest and does not cause gas in the baby's sensitive digestive system.
Special fatty acids support brain cell development and visual acuity.
Speeds up the return of the uterus to its pre-pregnancy size (involution) and reduces postpartum bleeding.
Significantly reduces the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.
The oxytocin hormone secreted during breastfeeding strengthens the bond between mother and baby.
Wash your hands with soap. Apply a warm, damp towel compress to your breast to stimulate milk ducts.
Gently massage the breast in circular motions from the outer side towards the nipple.
Form a 'C' shape with thumb on top and other fingers below. Press gently back towards the chest wall and compress.
Quiet, comfortable breastfeeding armchairs and hygienic equipment are available in our private breastfeeding rooms located at outpatient clinic entrances and inpatient ward floors.
Diaper changing units equipped with disposable changing pads and handwash sinks are at your service for clean and hygienic diaper changes.
Place a clean pad on the diaper changing mat. Keep a clean diaper, cotton pads, water, and diaper rash cream within reach.
Remove the dirty diaper. Wipe gently from front to back, especially for baby girls, to prevent urinary tract infections.
Dry the baby's skin and let it air for a few seconds to prevent diaper rash. Apply a thin layer of diaper rash cream.
Place the new diaper. If the umbilical cord hasn't fallen off yet, fold the diaper down to keep it exposed. Do not fasten too tightly.

Myth! Sucking at the breast stimulates and increases milk production. Unless medically indicated, breast milk alone is sufficient for the first 6 months.
Myth! Hospitalized infants in our NICU are fed expressed breast milk via cup, syringe, or tube, ensuring they receive the benefits of breast milk.
Myth! Giving teats or pacifiers can lead to nipple confusion, causing babies to reject their mother's breast.
Myth! Many drugs pass into breast milk. Any medication used during lactation must be approved and monitored by a doctor.
Myth! The baby sucks by taking the dark area (areola) into their mouth, not just the nipple. Breastfeeding is successful with correct positioning.
Myth! Hormones are activated after C-section too. Initiating skin-to-skin contact immediately after birth accelerates milk production.
